The Best of Capernwray: Notes on the Old Testament and More

The Best of Capernwray. How audacious! Is this to say that the founders were better Bible teachers than the present ones? No. “Capernwray” dates back to post-war times in England when a former major general was able to purchase and turn an old castle into a Bible school and conference center. The Torchbearer ministry has since multiplied to 19 other countries and reached tens of thousands of people.

This small volume contains the writings of the first principal of this school, which was located in the beautiful Lake District of Northern England. There are notes on the entire Old Testament, as well as on how we got our Bible and on the intertestamental period. Few people have devoted an entire lifetime to such deep study of the Bible as L.A.T. Van Dooren. Knowing and applying the Bible well is the basis for living a vibrant Christian life and to be an effective light in a dark world; hence, a “Torchbearer.”

The Best of Capernwray: 31 Voices from the Past

The first volume in this series contains Old Testament notes by L.A.T. Van Dooren, the first principal of Capernwray Bible School in Northern England, and president of the worldwide branches of Capernwray for several years from 1975. This volume contains class notes given by 31 different lecturers. The lectures were often spread out over a number of weeks or even months. The longest series was given by Stuart Briscoe on the book of John in December, 1965 with a total of 17 lectures.Exegetical chapter by chapter and verse by verse studies of the Bible, were given, and a number of topics were covered, including Hands of the Skeptic, Student, Soul Winner, Speaker, Saint, Bible Background, Heresies, Islam, Church History, the Tabernacle, the Second Advent, Homiletics, the Bible and Science, Scriptural Evangelism, the Dead Sea Scrolls, missions, and more. The end of this volume includes L.A.T. Van Dooren’s correspondence course series called ‘Operation 27’ (27 books of the New Testament). You have in your hands a great bargain; namely, an inexpensive book that is actually the equivalent of three semesters of Bible school, which would otherwise require plenty of time and money! You’ve heard of “armchair” vacations, well this book is an “armchair” Bible School. Be blessed and enriched!

Have you ever wanted to understand the soul of a person? Just look at the quotes and memories they save - you'll learn a lot about them and about life.Miriam Maranzenboim began collecting poems, quotes, and jokes as a child and pasted them into a spiral notebook.

Her well-worn notebook became so full, that she needed a second one. Today, a pensioner with 12 grandchildren, Miriam shares with you this compilation of a lifetime of cherished words. From jokes to poetry, and the quotes of friends to literary favorites, these pages map the shaping of a world view filled with hope and life.

Two Books for Daniel

As Miriam shares with Daniel and his friends, new truths are revealed, and you will be amazed with the power of the never-ending story of the gospel.

Is Israel Really the Pits?: Instruction Manual for American Messianic Jews

Olive trees, like the Jewish people, never die. This is why the olive tree symbolizes Israel. Olives are popular and can be used for a variety of things, from food to cleansing and healing - however, you can't avoid the pits!

This book shares the many "pits" my husband and I have encountered during our past 43 years living in Israel, and how we became overcomers by the "Amazing Grace" of G-d. Whether you are visiting, or coming here to stay, may our story encourage and inspire you to believe the words of Jeremiah 32:41: I will rejoice in doing them good, and faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and soul.

TIME OUT for a KNEE REPLACEMENT: Between Faith Healing and Modern Medicine

When it comes to disease and sickness, they are often seen to be two camps: those who believe in medicine and those who believe in divine healing - no doctors allowed. But are the two exclusive?

Miriam Maranzenboim shares a unique perspective that finds a healthy balance between the two. Having experienced both medical and miraculous healing, she shares how they both came into play through a very common medical procedure - total knee replacement surgery.

In “Time Out for a Knee Replacement,” you will discover how the divine and the mundane intertwine to make healing a very real part of life — however it is actualized.

That's it for now!
