Tournament of Magirus
On ToM, I was a designer for the level, companions, and spells. My responsibilities were:
Iterate on spells to fit narratively and balance gameplay
Concept ideas for companions
World build 2 environments and fill with assets
Collaborate closely with artist, programmers, and creative writer
Other various roles such as artist, programmer, and producer
My contributions
My biggest contributions for ToM was the world building and spell design. The atmosphere should make the players feel like they're in a fighting arena. Narratively all the characters had to have their spells fit them so names of spells and how they affected enemies had to feel right.
The scenario starts with the players tossed into a level with their chosen fighters. Although they do not fight directly, they command companions of their respective designs.
The world and companions needed to feel as if the players were in a fantasy land that has life, death, and energy in it.
The levels were created with vibrant colors and destructive matter to really push the atmosphere of a fighting zone where the players can duel it out
