Restaurant Design- Cheesy Melt
Programming
The City of South Milwaukee is a suburb located 10 miles south of the city of Milwaukee. This suburb has a population of just over 21,000 and has a primarily blue-collar history. The goal of this project was to restore a currently vacant building into a grilled cheese restaurant. This was achieved through meetings with vested parties, designing branding, and the interior architecture.

Selected Materials
The materials selected for this space were chosen very carefully. All of the materials from the LVT flooring to the vinyl seats were selected with durability and clean ability in mind. The accent tile(top left) will be used within the kitchen, to create a focal wall for the seating area at the bar. The fusion of these bright and fresh colors allows for this restaurant to be pleasing and welcoming for the wide variety of people and families that it will serve.
Design Solution
This space includes dining height seating and bar height seating which creates a user friendly space for all ages. Within the seating area there is a gallery wall where artists from the community can come and present their works. This helps to create a community connection with the restaurant to help drive business.
