Beasiswa: Program Pengembangan Kepemimpinan TELADAN

"Not all gliters are gold". It is absolutely true, but for this one, no gliter can outshine this wonderful experience for years.

After successfully passing (numerous) steps to be TELADAN Program Awardee, sponsored by Tanoto Foundation, I and 149 other awardees were given privilege to attend a 5-days program of Leadership Training. Fortunately, since it was held near my hometown, Bogor, it did not take too long to get there, so I went there by myself instead of going with my peers.

Arriving there, we all enjoyed the 5-days journey very much. Started with introduction sessions to "codes", including go-home bell, stand-up password, group-discussion formation, and so on, we processed together in a form of group. We were taught how to be a leader, how to broaden our circle of influence, what characters should be championed, and how to create a big yet measurable goal. During the process, I met many people with outstanding dreams, like future biomedical engineer, cum-laude achiever, researcher, dentist, and doctor. As normal as it may seem, unique point that differentiates this programs is its nationality-based process, meaning that all of our goals started with mindset "What Can I Do for Indonesia?". That is why, being skeptical for Indonesia is not an option. Instead, it is just a failure to understand how great Indonesia can be, and these 150 awardees should become pillar for that outstanding kingdom called "Archipelago of Indonesia".

After this program, is will be continued by continuous mentoring and Scholars Association in our respective university. This experience becomes huge for me as for the first time, I acknowledge that my self-discipline is not good enough, something that I brand myself with for years. My goals were also too abstract to ensure my mind that I do want that dream. I feel better in managing my time and emotion, while also acknowledging that sacrifices in those sections are needed under certain circumstances. as pleasuring as it can be, now is time to go and realize our dreams, fella.
