Padlet "About Me"
Below is a Padlet that I created to show all the places I have traveled. Please feel free to engage with the polls and leave comments.
Padlet in the Classroom
Technology platforms have become more commonplace within elementary school classrooms as tools to assist with learning. One of these great tools is Padlet. My personal experience with Padlet began at the beginning of the MAT Dual Certification Program in our very first class. We used Padlet for an “ice breaker” activity to introduce ourselves to our professor and fellow classmates. Padlet has been used throughout our courses for similar activities, but can be utilized in many other exciting ways.
As I have been able to explore Padlet, I realized that Padlet offers its users many different ways to interact with the “bulletin board” style platform. Students who may struggle with writing can upload or search pictures or draw their own in order to post on the platform. Padlet even will generate A.I. pictures for the parameters set if a student is not comfortable drawing on their own. Padlet also allows students to voice record or video record as part of the engagement with the platform. These features are particularly helpful for students with disabilities, who may need to express themselves in ways beyond writing or words. Padlet even offers the ability to create a poll, so teachers can gather data on their students, or students can gather data for a project.
I can see Padlet being helpful for brainstorming ideas in a group setting, which can be saved and referred back to at a later time. Padlet can also be used for an interactive lessons where a teacher can pose a question or questions and students can respond however they want with the features available. Padlet is useful for all learners as they can engage with content in any way they are comfortable. Educators can use this tool to create differentiated content to reach all learners including those with disabilities. With Padlet’s many capabilities, I find that Padlet will be a useful tool to utilize in my future classroom, so I can ensure all students are able to engage with the curriculum in a positive way.
