Parent Instructional Guide - "Padlet"
For this assignment we needed to select a tool or assistive technology that we have learned about this semester and create an instruction guide for parental use. I chose to create my guide for the tool, Padlet. I like how Padlet allows students to collaborate easily and can provide in-the-moment assessment of students' knowledge and understanding.
Creating a Parent Instructional Guide for the Classroom
For my “Parent Instructional Guide,” I chose the platform Padlet. After learning about many great tools and assistive technologies, Padlet really stuck out to me. Maybe it is because I have had the most exposure to it, but I really think Padlet will be a great tool to utilize within my classroom when I become an educator. I appreciate how easy-to-use Padlet is for both teachers and students. For use as a teacher, I think Padlet is a great way to assess what students know in a quick and easy format. Padlet allows the teacher to get on-the-spot data from their students and can adjust lessons or teaching to make sure all the needs of the students are met.
For the students, Padlet is a great way to allow them to be creative with answering questions. There are many ways to post to a Padlet, and it allows the students to choose the best way to get their ideas across. Padlet is also a great way for students to collaborate, especially with brainstorming ideas. Padlet is also a great platform because students can take notes and provide pictures, and then have the ability to refer back to it through their devices, saving paper and preventing notes from getting lost. Padlet can be utilized in many ways to meet the needs of students of all abilities. I think that parents will appreciate this platform as well. My instructional guide provides the parents with visuals and step by step instructions so they can be involved with their child’s Padlet experience.
