About

The Johnson County Missouri Libertarian Party was born out of frustration with the two party system and the Iraq War. Though it has gone through some changes over the years, our belief in economic and personal liberty has never changed. We believe individuals are capable of making responsible choices for themselves.

We're the adults pushing back against the overprotective, overzealous "parental" government.

Our main focus is to keep things sane on the local level. That means opposing tax increases when they harm local communities instead of helping them. It also means spreading the message of freedom of association. We are LGBTQIA+ friendly, a stance the national party has proudly had since its inception in 1971.

Unlike other political parties who claim it, we are indeed a big tent party.

Our meetings are normally on the final Sunday of each month and all are welcome to attend. If interested feel free to contact us.
