SUMMARY

Due to time constraints for this project I launched straight into Figma to develop the designs for the banner and social ads.

APPROACH

With a fast approaching deadline I decided in this case to work directly in Figma to create my initial Lo - Fi designs. I like to work with a notebook and pencil drawings to get things started but when time is short or I already have some good ideas in mind I work directly in software creating wireframes and Lo-Fi designs.

MID/HI-FIDELITY LAYOUTS

Quickly moving onto Mid/Hi-Fidelity I incorporated colour and re-created the products in vector format to help with visualising before any cutting out of product images if needed.

BRAND & TYPOGRAPHY

The client had provided fonts, logo and brand guidelines and I could see that the ads required the use of two fonts in the ad designs, KANNADA and Calibre and I added these in during the early mocks for reviews.

ILLUSTRATIONS STYLE & COLOUR

Creating vector outlines of the product was helpful to scale and revise layouts as I worked out different approaches for a balanced homepage banner.

INSTAGRAM POSTS

Following the Banner layout work I moved onto the next phase of the project to design the Instagram posts.

I came up with variations, iterating the design to test different looks using creative commons images from stock photography sites to flesh out the designs ready for review and feedback phases.

PAID SOCIAL ADS

The final phase of the project was designs for the 1080 x 1920 social ads. Working with the product images I put together a few ideas for consideration keeping in mind that these have the intention to have the elements animated in After Effects as a 4th project phase.

CONCLUSION

This 3 x phase project for designs was well recieved and the layouts were presented on a large screen during a client meeting to go over the approaches and ideas. The looks provided stimulated the conversations around the planned marketing and awareness campaigns.
