The Danish Brahms Society
The society is one of eight in the world and only one of three outside Germany and Austria.
It was formed in 2012 by the Danish opera singer, music theoretic and Brahms-aficionado Mikkel Thorning. The society's main objective is to further the knowledge on Brahms, his music and the cultural landscape of the days. This is being done through concerts, research, lectures and this website.
The website is updated by the chairman and poses a huge task and we ask for your patience regarding flaws and inaccuracies. Factual errors can be reported to my email. Please don't hesitate to contact thorning@email.dk
The Brahms Society is a registered non-profit society under Danish law.
Honorary members are:
Michael Musgrave (USA), professor and Brahms-researcher
Karl Aage Rasmussen (DK), composer and author on several books on composers, including the only Danish Brahms biography
Klaus Lyngbye (DK), organist & cantor
