Fortunately Brahms lived in the era of the invention of the photographic picture. Throughout his life he was immortalised in a number of portraits, giving an excelent documentation of him and his life. Furthermore late in life he met the keen and brilliant amateur photographer, Maria Fellinger, who have produced the most intimate and personal shots of Brahms in everyday situations among his friend.
