Ian designed a 1:6 scale model for an outdoor restaurant seating area. The design complies with New York City's rules for outdoor seating structures, spurred by the need for safe outdoor dining during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am helping with CAD design, drawing creation, and design for assembly for the project.
Technologies use: Solidworks
Lead Mechanical Engineer
At Airdaptive we designed and produced AirTulip, a B2B Covid-19 air cleaner. AirTulip delivers HEPA filtered clean air at extremely high flow rates, with options for 20x the cleaning power of standard air purifiers and 100% clean air zones.
Tools used: Solidworks, DFA, DFM, laser cutting, 3D printing, Arduino.
Udacity Nanodegree Capstone
A simulated robot picks up and drops off objects and navigates autonomously in its environment with help from laser scan data.
Technologies used: ROS, C++, SLAM, Gazebo
Founder, Project Manager
Slipstream Live Productions, L.L.C is a sports broadcasting company specializing in telling the full story of endurance races through aerial video.
We had a bunch of pine boards lying around. Why not build an eye-pleasing book case with sides in the ratio 5 : 12 : 13 ?
Materials used: Pine, stain, wood glue, nails
Ground station, control, sensors, and software for a quadrotor from scratch. I Implemented PID control for this small quadrotor and equipped it with an Arduino, IMU, and pressure sensor.
The ground station is a MacBook Air running a simple pilot GUI written in Java. It sends flight commands on an Xbee radio link to the quad.
Technologies used: Arduino, C++, Java, IMU, Xbee, I2C
