Alexander Voy

Northern-based Alexander Voy, more widely known as Zander Voy, was a conditional jockey who rode 48 winners from almost 800 rides.

His career was ended by a fall when riding out for Mark Johnston in June 2013, in which he sustained 16 fractures to his right foot.

Although he recovered sufficiently to walk and run on it, a cyst grew where he had lost some bone and further MRI scans confirmed the long-term prognosis was not good.

Accepting the situation, he announced his retirement in January 2015, aged 24. Obliged to look elsewhere, he chose the financial services industry, joining a new firm set up by former amateur rider Miles Seston.
