Cape Guild of Weavers

South Africa's oldest guild - founded more than half a century ago. Our aim is to encourage and promote the enduring and very satisfying crafts of weaving, spinning, knitting, felting and dyeing through the enthusiastic participation of our members. And in sharing a common interest, we break down communication barriers between generations, gender and differing cultures.

Rossiter Spinning and Weaving

Julian was already hooked on working with wood when his wife Elizabeth decided that natural yarns spun from fibres such as wool, linen and silk were far more interesting to work with than bought man made fibres. An innocent "please could you make me a wheel Jules?" has turned into a fascination with everything to do with spinning.

This web site is a brief record of a unique collection of spinning wheels and accessories made by him over many years.

Fibre Crafts ZA

Fibre Crafts ZA Webzine features articles on all fibre crafts including weaving, spinning, dyeing, felting, knitting, lace, quilting and more...
