Johannesburg Weavers & Spinners Guild
The Johannesburg Weavers and Spinners Guild of South Africa are passionate about weaving, spinning, felting, dyeing and fibre art.
We are hand weavers, hand spinners, knitters, hand felters and fibre crafters who have joined together to enjoy the inspiration, motivation and help provided by the collective membership.
We have members at all levels of expertise and productivity. Some of our more experienced members give classes in the various disciplines.
The Guild has a general meeting every month. These meetings provide us with time to share our craft experiences and give us the opportunity to enjoy speakers and demonstrations on related subjects. We also have workshops a few times a year.
An extensive library of books and current magazines which keep us up to date with the latest trends worldwide is available to members.
The MEETINGS are usually held at:
The Floreum
Johannesburg Botanical Gardens Emmarentia
Olifants Road
North Entrance
Guild membership fees are R200.00 per year from 2023.
General meetings are held at the Floreum, Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, Emmarentia on the first Saturday of the month 9:30 for 10.00 am.
However the Floreum is currently under construction, so please contact joburgweaversguild@gmail.com to find out where the
