Joburg Mahuyu is currently a Research Fellow at Midlands State University, Gweru, Zimbabwe. He is a holder of a Master of Science Degree in Development Studies, Bachelor of Technology Education Degree with specialisation in Economics of Education and Business Studies and a Diploma in Education. He is a final year Doctoral candidate pursuing Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Development Studies with the University of South Africa (UNISA). He has worked as researcher and consultant (Co- Principal Investigator) to the following organisations with which he has helped to produce technical reports and policy briefs: International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada (2016-2018), SADC (Zimbabwe), UN (Zimbabwe), COMESA (2024-2025), University of Zimbabwe, ZACC and many other. Joburg Mahuyu was once lecturer for Development Economics, Peace and conflict Transformation and Vulnerability and Livelihoods Development at Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (2020-2021).In terms of outstanding leadership and advisory roles, he was once a Council member and representative for lecturers at Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU). Currently, at Midlands State University, he sits in staff fellows committee, research and consultancy committee and Business Development Committee.
