Job Con is a way to help students and teachers in the Career Life Exploration Courses to Provide a Solution to a Student's Burning Question.

Job Con is a proposed educational venture that aims to answering the question, "What do I want to be when I grow up?" It is a computer application that teachers can use to:

The Idea

The idea came to me when I was working with my students in my Career Life Exploration classes. The age old question of "How many of you know what you want to be when you grow up?" Many students put up their hands and many others did not. It is always hard to help those students figure out what they want to be. Websites offer as much as they can but I always thought to myself, is there something that can show students what the job is like? Furthermore, I enjoy going to conventions. Whether it is work related or fun related, going to cons has allowed me to see a lot of vendors and interact with them.  Conventions also bring new materials and products that have not been released into the public market yet. I thought to myself, why not bring the two together? That's where Job Con came in! Job Con is a platform to try new things just like at a convention or a trade show.
