Jyh Ming Wu received a Ph. D. in materials science engineering from National Tsing-Hua University in 2005. In 2013, he was employed as a Professor at National Tsing-Hua University, later served as deputy chairman, acting chairman.

Jyh Ming Wu is currently a professor and in the department of materials science and engineering at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. degree from the department of materials science and engineering at National Tsing Hua University in 2005. From 2006-2013, he was an associate professor in the department of materials science and engineering at Feng-Chia University, Taiwan. After Aug 2013, he joined NTHU as an associate professor. Because of his outstanding contribution in nanoscience and nanotechnology, he has received numerous honors awards, included: 2011 Ta-You Wu Memorial Award by the National Science Council in Taiwan, Youth Leadership Award by the Taiwan Vacuum Society, etc.

Professor Jyh Ming Wu has been awarded several honors: From 2011 to 2020, he won the national science council Da-Yu Wu award, Taiwan vacuum society young scholar award, ministry of science and technology Taiwan (MOST)-outstanding young scholar program, Far Eastern Y.Z. Hsu science paper award, Outstanding research award of the ministry of science and technology Taiwan, and the MOST future science and technology award. In 2020, he was awarded as a fellow of Vebleo. His academic research focuses on 2D materials; ferroelectric materials; piezocatalysts; piezotronics; piezoelectric and triboelectric nanogenerators, smart sensing materials, and lithium-ion battery materials.
