About Me

Hello!

My name is Jen Matthews, and I serve as a school psychologist at South Garner High School and Willow Springs Elementary. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology, from NC State University and went on to complete both my master’s and specialist degrees in School Psychology at Appalachian State University.

I am actively involved in various school, district, and state initiatives that support student learning, mental health, and equity. Over the years, I’ve had opportunities to contribute through leadership, mentoring, professional development, and committee work, all with the goal of promoting positive outcomes for students and schools. 

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children, cheering on the Wolfpack, and traveling whenever I can.
