On Friday, March 22, 2019 at 7 PM, we held a trial sermon service for the licensing of Darlene Brooks-Ross as a Minister of the Gospel. Darlene’s family and friends attend the service. Members of the church were there to support her. Sister Helen Pennington ushered and greeted people with a welcome and a hug. Sister Terry Green was able to attend. Even though Sister Nikki was not feeling her best she too attended. Elder Bernice Brown was present. Our keyboardist, Sis. Marilyn provided the music. Of course, Deacon and Pastor were in attendance. Pastor Jackie lead Praise and Worship, and Elder Bernice Brown was the Worship Leader. Members from three of the churches we fellowship with, were also present, Abundance of Faith, Humble Tabernacle and Germantown Church of the Brethren.
Several pastors who were in attendance assisted. Pastor Rogers gave the invocation, and Pastor Gayle read the scripture. Bishop Sylvester Willis prayed for traveling mercy for Annette McCoy, a visitor who drove all the way from Ohio for the service. Sister Darlene preached on being equipped. She came from 2 Timothy. Pastor Jackie gave her, her charge from Matthew 28:16-19, and presented her with her license and a mini wallet sized sealed copy of her license. She is now referred to as: Minister Darlene Brooks-Ross!
