This is my first authored book, it's a creative essay born from my experience as a Narrative Designer.
It’s meant to help aspiring writers and creators who struggle to shape their stories - whether because they have too many ideas fighting for the spotlight in Chapter One, or because they’re staring at a blank page with none at all.
Through a lighthearted and accessible approach, the book uses examples from video games - whose storytelling often borrows from the language of cinema - to illustrate the structure and patterns that make narratives work.
Readers are guided step by step through the creative process, discovering how the “Hero’s Journey” can become a playful, personal tool to overcome creative blocks.
The preface is written by Fabio Viola, a well-known Italian curator and game designer who specializes in video game exhibitions and gamification projects. His support highlights the book’s mission: to make storytelling approachable and enjoyable for everyone.
Currently available only in Italian, Beyond the Gamepad aims to offer a method rather than a theory - helping anyone transform inspiration into a story.
