Hi, I'm Jionatan Vernengo, a Narrative Designer focused on worldbuilding, interactive storytelling, and player-driven narrative systems.
I work at the intersection between narrative design and interactive media, exploring how stories can become playable structures. My focus is on designing experiences where systems, characters, and player choices work together to create meaning and emotional impact.
My background includes narrative design, worldbuilding, and writing for both personal projects and early-stage collaborations with indie studios. Over time, this evolved into a broader interest in how narrative principles can be applied beyond traditional writing, including music and interactive audio systems.
A key part of my work is experimenting with how storytelling can exist across different mediums. This includes narrative-driven game concepts, structured worldbuilding systems, and music projects where composition supports atmosphere and implied storytelling rather than explicit narration.
While I don’t work directly inside engines like Unity or Unreal, I specialize in narrative architecture: defining worlds, rules, emotional structures, and character logic that can be implemented by development teams. I’ve spent years studying how systems and storytelling intersect, and I use this perspective to support interactive projects from a design and conceptual level.
One of my published works explores how video games can be used to understand narrative structure and emotional design in a practical, applied way.
