Microbicidal Nano-Architectures
In article "Rational Design of Microbicidal Inorganic Nano-Architectures", we introduce a rational design of TiO2 nanowire array for high-efficient antimicrobe by a synergistic effect. Nanowires with sub-100-nm diameters can mechanically rupture microbial membranes through nanoscale piercing, while UV-activated photocatalytic reactions generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) for chemical sterilization. This design of nano-architectures provides durable antimicrobe for addressing challenges in infection control and marine surface fouling.
