- Activities as Researcher.
Research lines:
1. Plant Ecology, Botany and Biodiversity Conservation: I am a plant evolutionary ecologist with a focus on ecological and evolutionary effects of global change, drawing on ideas and methods from plant ecophysiology, macroecology, as well as quantitative and population genetics.
-Effects of global change (climate change, fragmentation, etc.) on plants and biodiversity.
-Evolutionary mechanisms and phenotypic plasticity in plants.
-Plant adaptation to environmental change.
-Spatial and genetic structure of co-occurring plants.
-Restoration ecology.
2. Biological Invasions: Ecology and biology of invasive species and their control methods.
3. Integrated Pest Management and Crop Protection: Pests control (mainly insects and weeds) in agricultural and forestry ecosystems. Specialized in biological control.
- Activities as Scientific Expert on pesticide risk assessment, biological control and regulatory affairs of plant protection products at the Plant Protection Products Unit (INIA).
