“Proyecto de I+D+i de Optimización de los Sistemas de Eliminación y Control de Cañaverales para Mejora del Estado Ecológico y Recuperación de la Capacidad de Desagüe de los Ríos”, que trata de generar una batería de técnicas efectivas para la gestión de Arundo donax L (caña común), procurando dar un tratamiento integral en toda la cadena de control y paliación de los efectos de esta especie alóctona invasora y de la problemática derivada de la presencia en los ríos y demás ecosistemas acuáticos. Los métodos ensayados están compuestos por tratamientos mecánicos, físicos y aplicación de fitosanitarios sistémicos, acompañados de actuaciones de mejora ambiental basadas en técnicas de bioingeniería y plantaciones de especies autóctonas de ribera. Los diferentes trabajos se han desarrollado en cauces de la península Ibérica de cinco cuencas intercomunitarias.
