During the 2025 spring term, our team facilitated five weeks of classroom lessons and led three field trips. Working alongside Ecology in Classrooms & Outdoors (ECO), El Camino del Río/River Road Elementary School, and Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, our team of ten designed and implemented activities centered on migratory birds. Migration shared the connection to our partners in Guanajuato Mexico. Bilinguale implimitations along with frameworks to foster relationships were a big part of it all.
The Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) is a community-based learning program through the Environmental Studies program at the University of Oregon. The program fosters community engagement by matching student-led teams to an abundance of non-profit organizations, government programs, and more to address the crucial environmental issues present in our community. This program provides undergraduate and graduate students with the necessary skills to develop professionalism, leadership, and more. Spring 2025 holds 6 separate projects, including Aves Compartidas, Wild Wanders, Climate Science Team, Oregon Ash, Wild Life & Parks, and Restoration & Research.
