Design Overview
Turn-based RPG, inspired by games like Pokémon, Trails series, and YS series. The story begins with the main character, Arthur Reinhart, waking up at the beach of an unknown island, seems to have lost his memory. He then goes into the forest and starts his adventure.
Attributes
STR – strength, affects physical damage.
DEF – defense, affects the damage received by physical attacks.
MGS – magic strength, affects magic damage.
MDF – magic defense, affects the damage received by magic attacks.
SPD – speed, affects how fast the character moves.
DEX (%based) – dexterity, affects the likelihood of hitting the enemy.
AGL (%based) – agility, affects the likelihood of evading physical attacks.
EVA (%based) – evasion, affects the likelihood of evading magic attacks.
HP – health point
MP – magic point
LUK - Luck, affects critical hit chance
STR, DEF, and SPD values are heavily related to your HP percentage. If you have a low hp percentage, these stats will decrease according to how much HP in percent you lost.
MGS and MDF values are related to your MP percentage.
Elements
You have six elements, with fire being strong against wind, wind being strong against earth, earth being strong against water, water being strong against fire. These four elements form a square on the element table. The two exceptions are holy and darkness. These two elements are strong against each other. Every character, including monsters, has a base element. If they got hit by an element that they are weak against, they take more damage. If they got hit by an element that they are strong against, they take significantly less damage. If they got hit by an element that is the same as their base type, they take less damage.
Skill
Skills can deal either physical or magic damage. Each skill also has an element type that goes with it. If your character has a base element type of fire and you use a skill that has the same element type, you deal more damage. If you use a skill that has a different element type than your base element type, you deal less damage.
Weapons
Each character gets a unique weapon that they possess from beginning to end
Players can upgrade their weapons in specific locations, increasing their base stat (str or mgs).
Upon each upgrade, the weapon will slightly change, however, it won’t affect the physical appearance of the characters, it changes the icon of the weapon and the stat.
Clothing/Armor
Three types of armors: The first one has high mdf stat but no def stat, the second one has medium mdf stat and medium def stat, and the last one has high def stat but no mdf stat.
Shoes
All shoes give you spd stat.
Extra Items
Every character can equip up to two extra items. You have rings that allow you to equip common skills, which is different from the unique skill that characters have. They have special effects based on their element type. For example, a fire common skill might burn the enemy, causing them to lose hp over time. A water common skill might freeze the enemy, etc.
You also have other items that give you elemental damage reduction, extra dex, agl, or eva stat.
Quest
There will be side quests in the game where the player can accept quests and complete them in return for some reward.
These quests include killing x monsters, gathering x items, or talking to a specific person.
Not completing the quests will not affect the story, it will affect your gameplay experience.
The player will have to go talk to the NPC to unlock the quest and go to the request board to accept the quest.
Team
You have six playable characters, but you can only choose four to participate in battles at once.
The game starts off with the main character himself, other characters will join as the story goes.
You can place your four characters in a 3x3 grid, and it’s up to you how you want to place them. You might want to place them to get the most out of your characters, or you might want to place them to take the least damage from your enemies.
Positions can not be changed during the battle; they can only be changed in the overworld.
Combat Menu
Attack (STR) – basic attack that has no special effects.
Skill (MGS/STR) – special attacks that cause more damage than a normal attack, could also have special effects, but it causes MP to use. Depending on the type of skill you use, it can deal either physical or magic damage.
Items – use items, including but not limited to healing items, stats boosters, etc.
Escape – run away from the battle, lose 5% of your money and 10% of each of your character’s health points and mana points.
