Why I Started This Program

I wanted to start John Glenn Pompon because our students deserve more opportunities to participate, perform, lead, and feel connected to their school community. Pompon combines athleticism, teamwork, school spirit, discipline, and creativity in a way that allows students to grow both individually and as a team.

Because this is our first season, our athletes will have the special opportunity to help shape the identity and traditions of the program. I want them to look back and feel proud that they helped build something positive for future John Glenn students.

As a social studies teacher, I believe students learn best when they feel known, supported, and actively involved in their learning. I bring those same beliefs to coaching.

Athletes will be encouraged to ask questions, learn from mistakes, support one another, and take ownership of their growth. Our required study hour on practice days also reflects my belief that academics and athletics should work together—not compete against one another.

I want every team member to develop skills that extend beyond Pompon, including confidence, time management, communication, perseverance, leadership, and responsibility.
