When I declared my major in Art History, my plan was to pursue museum work or graduate school. Since then, I have realized there are so many Indianapolis-specific activities I love, beyond our museums, so I've expanded my prospects to the broader field of tourism.
My capstone project explored the intersection of art and women's sports, so naturally I was thrilled when Indy was announced as the host city for WNBA All-Star Weekend.
I went to the skills challenge, 3-point challenge, and All-Star game. I also attended WNBA Live, Unrivaled HQ, live tapings of sports podcasts, and as many pop-up experiences as I could fit into the schedule. I used this weekend to brainstorm all of the jobs I could see myself working, what events I enjoyed that enhanced the overall experience, what events had opportunities for improvement, and what additional events or programming could support such a big weekend in the city.
