Why Health Coaching?...
As a health coach, my primary goal is to help individuals uncover the underlying sources of their health issues. Many of my clients come to me with conditions that are often complex and multifaceted, such as hormonal imbalances, autoimmune disorders, or thyroid problems, and sometimes with symptoms that have eluded diagnosis by traditional medical avenues.
In my role, I guide clients through the essential lifestyle adjustments necessary to address and alleviate their symptoms. This process typically involves a comprehensive review of their daily habits, including their nutrition, physical activity, sleep patterns, and stress management techniques.
However, to truly understand and tackle these health challenges, we often need to dive deeper. This is where targeted diagnostic tools, such as blood work and DNA and microbiome tests, become invaluable. These tools enable us to pinpoint the exact factors contributing to their health issues.
Once we have a clear understanding of whats causing the symptoms, I work with each client to develop a tailored action plan. This plan may include dietary changes, exercise routines, improved sleep habits, stress reduction strategies, and when necessary, supplements or medications (provided through my team of health care providers).
Consider me your personal health detective... If you're experiencing unresolved health issues, I'm here to help you identify the root cause and partner with you to create a path towards recovery and optimal health.
If you are dealing with hormone or thinking you may have a thyroid issue, its important to test to see what your levels are. Once we have blood work, we align those things with your symptoms and come up with a plan that addresses the foundational lifestyle details that are most important. Then we consider further intervention if needed. Its important to note that no change happens over night and that consistency and dedication to health and wellbeing are the main factors.Â
While there are always outside things that can help, there is never a "magic pill". We must partner these interventions with lifestyle change (nutritional, movement, sleep and stress management) and a dedication to overall physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It is critical to understand the implications of stress on our body. While eliminating stress is not possible, reducing it where we can (in our environmental, emotional, physical etc) can help tremendously. I always encourage people to "be in control of what you can have control over", meaning, if you have a choice, make the better choice. Taking control of your health is the first step in long term healing and health optimization.
There are lots of times that we are told that the only way to deal with an issue is to manage it and from a health perspective, I don't entirely agree with that statement. There are so many health conditions that can be alleviated and even reversed with lifestyle optimization and some supplements and therapies that work on a physiological level. As mentioned earlier, we do our best to give the body a fighting chance but doing what we can from a foundational perspective (nutritional, movement, sleep and stress management) to alleviate many things. Then, for any remaining concerns that persist due to long-term dysfunction, we can turn to additional therapies and interventions. This comprehensive approach allows us to go beyond mere management, offering a path to true health improvement.
