Jessica Ton and the American Red Cross club created "Thank You" cards to express their gratitude to Hurricane Ida workers and volunteers!
In May of 2022, Jessica Ton and her fellow cabinet members were able offer CPR certification. Beforehand, they hosted an engaging event that taught club members about what CPR is and the fundamentals!
The American Red Cross club hosted various donation drives throughout the year for veterans! During the holiday season, the club participated in the TGCR American Red Cross "Stocking Stuffers for Veterans" event. They collected basic hygiene products and toiletries and then given to veterans and their families.
Below I decided to highlight significant events and responsibilities to show more insight about being a YSC member of the American Red Cross!
This is an example of the monthly newsletter Jessica created! This newsletter is then distributed to 1300+ youth volunteers in the Texas Gulf Coast Region!
This year Jessica and the American Youth Service Council were able to revitalized in-person events. For the upcoming Holiday season, youth volunteers painted ornaments, decorated stocking stuffers, and learned about disaster preparedness!
Over the past 3 year, the annual 3 day TGCR Youth Leadership Development Conference consisted of 30+ training sessions and reached over 800 attendees. Youth volunteers connected with previous council members, garnered skills such as communication and teamwork, and engaged in the various lines of services offered by the American Red Cross.
