Goals

Writing Skills

While at UCLA, I hope to gain new writing skills that will help me become the best writer I can be. I want to use these new skills to help propel me into the working world after graduation. I am aware that defined writing skills are the main base foundation needed to become a good writer, which will help me sprout into the writing world. When writing, I can express my feelings and thoughts on paper for everyone to read and portray as their own. And when finishing up my Bachelor of Arts in English, I want to be able to gain improve writing skills in order to execute that as efficiently and appealingly as possible.

Mentors

Upon the many resources at UCLA, I believe having a mentorship is the best way to go. Something that I hope to accomplish while at UCLA is to not only gain an opportunity to join a mentorship, but also creating and keeping a relationship alive with the mentor after graduation. While at UCLA, having a mentor can help guide me through the necessary steps in order to become successful in the writing profession that I choose. They can help me make the best decision that fits with me as well as giving me a handful of their own network connections that can help me through school. After graduation, having a mentor can benefit me in gaining many connections and helping me navigate through my early years of work.

Life Long Friends

Lastly, I want to gain and maintain lifelong friends. Although I only have 2 years at UCLA, I know that making lifelong friends can help me become successful and happy while trekking through the 6 tough quarter sessions each of us have to face. The many people I have met during my first year at UCLA have made such an impact in my life and I cannot see otherwise. Having friends while at UCLA is a great support system to have, especially during finals week. And maintaining these after graduation and life is the best thing because you can share your life accomplishments with them such as graduating together and celebrating each other's first job offer.
