This was a project to create an illustration using only typography. The entire image is made using typography, including the background. This project really helped me understand how shape and form influence how individuals perceive an image. I utilized Adobe Photoshop to create a first draft that showed the composition of the image. Once I was satisfied with the composition, I had to decide how to develop my idea into a finished product using typography. This gave me an opportunity to showcase my ability to communicate visually in an illustrative way. I had relied quite heavily on my writing abilities prior to this project, so this was a nice change of pace.
The goal of this assignment was to take an existing website (www.priceline.com) and improve it visually. The requirements for this particular project were to show the improvements using a sketch and wireframe for the layout. To complete this project, I looked at it from a user's perspective and made the changes I thought a user would want to see. This required me to utilize both Photoshop and Illustrator to create a workable sketch that showcased the basic composition of the website. After the sketch was complete, I created a wireframe version of the website that was a mock-up of what the website would look like with my proposed changes.
This project required me to consider the needs of a specific audience and adjust the layout of the existing website (www.priceline.com) to meet those needs. I had to reintroduce myself to vectors, which was definitely not like riding a bike.
