Version Numbers

There are 4 different numbers for my site's version number.

In betas, there are 5 numbers for the site version number.

Let's go over what those values mean.

Public Version

1st Number: A.B.C.D

This is the major version number. This type of update brings in major overhauls to the site layout and adds a lot of new feature. This includes new pages, text changes, etc.

2nd Number: A.B.C.D

This is the massive version number. They are not as massive as major updates, but they still change many aspects of the site.

3rd Number: A.B.C.D

This is the minor update version number. This changes a few things that are either no longer revelent to the site or there's some bugs that were fixed in the site.

4th Number: A.B.C.D

This is the micro update version number. This has the tiniest amount of changes to the site. Typically if a bug was spotted immediately after publishing the site and needed to be fixed on the same day.

Beta Version

5th Number: A.B.C.D.E

This is the beta update version number. It only shows up during betas, and this is updated instead of the other update numbers until the site is ready to be the dominate version. Things can be unstable and thus feedback is appreciated.

Letter: A.B.C.D.E [F]

This is the letter beta update value. It only shows up during betas, and is essentially like the micro update version number, but for betas.

Example: 10.0.0.0.33 [a]

Prerelease Number: A.B.C.D Pre. E

This is the prerelease update version number. Once I am satisfied with the given product, it is moved into the prerelease phase where no more new pages will be made and I will only change existing pages for the time being.

Release Candidate Number: A.B.C.D RC E

This is the release candidate update version number. Once every page has been polished, it will move to the final phase before official release. If no more issues pop up a week after the most recent release candidate has been released, then the testing phase ends and the labels indicating this will be removed.
