Research focus on the dynamics of microorganisms and their role in biogeochemical processes within aquatic ecosystems.
I am a scientific researcher specializing in aquatic ecosystem ecology, with a specific focus on the dynamics of microorganisms and the associated processes involved in biogeochemical cycles. My work spans across both marine and freshwater environments, investigating how microorganisms drive key ecological processes that sustain ecosystem health and function.
To date, my research has focused on phytoplanktonic and microphytobenthic photosynthesis, primary production, bacterial denitrification, and the dynamics of exopolysaccharides in response to external control factors. Through fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and advanced data modeling, I aim to uncover the complex interactions between microorganisms and their environments, and how these processes influence global nutrient cycles, carbon fluxes, and climate regulation.

I am currently involved in the REWRITE (Rewilding and restoration of European intertidal sedimentary ecosystems) project (official website), under the supervision of Johann Lavaud. This project focuses on on the restoration of fragile intertidal habitats, which are increasingly threatened by fragmentation, biodiversity loss, and climate change. By combining ecological, biogeochemical, and socio-economic approaches, REWRITE seeks to enhance the resilience of coastal ecosystems and the services they provide to human societies. The consortium brings together experts from 11 European countries, the UK, and North America to develop innovative strategies for a more sustainable future along European coastlines.
