This semester has taught me a lot in regards of improving myself as a writer, where there were goods and bad, I have ultimately enjoyed myself writing, and improving at the same time. I have learned to really look in text to see how an author uses rhetorical devices and how to read in between the lines in the literature that I have read. I have had in depth discussions on what an author could mean by their rhetoric usage in their writing, and I have even been looking out for it in my own time, by noticing how things are placed in the grocery store to reading a political article. I have learned a lot about how to collaborate for an extended amount of time with people that I have not really met before whilst also helping my own community with the self-service learning project. I was very accustomed to revising and planning when it came to writing but with this course, I have learned to do it more effectively and with ease. Although I am not a master at this skill, yet I can feel myself growing closer and closer to the goals that I have set for myself as a writer. All in all, I think this course is amazing, it lets you explore your creative side while also improving your awareness in places and current events. This class brings so much more to the table than any other English class that I have taken, and I hope to have similar classes like this one in the future.
