Jendza Music Studio provides voice lessons to students of all ages, abilities, and voice types. Students participate in school-sponsored contests and festivals as well as contests and festivals sponsored by other organizations. Students take voice lessons for many reasons: to prepare for musical auditions and college auditions, singing in church, singing for county and state fairs, and many other events. Jendza Music Studio provides a digital piano for studio use as well as a digital keyboard. The studio also has recording equipment and software for making audition recordings and/or CDs.
A variety of books and music are used. Unfortunately, there is no one series of book for the singer, so we use several books to cover sight-singing, warm-ups, theory, ear training, and repertoire. Below are some of the books in use by current students:
The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology
Sacred Solos for All Ages
The First Book of Solos (by voice type)
Standard Vocal Literature (Hal Leonard)
Singer's Book of Jazz Standards (Hal Leonard)
Marchesi Vocal Method
Vaccai Practical Method for Soprano or Tenor
Concone: The School of Sight-Singing
26 Italian songs and Arias
Musical Theatre Anthology for Teens
Easy Songs for the Beginning Soprano
Morgan at Keller Audition
"Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best."
-Henry Van Dyke
