Sparkler Jellinegai, renowned as the ultimate guardians of Jellinegai shrines and temples, possess a unique ability to utilize the flames at the tips of their tails as a formidable defense mechanism. These fiery appendages serve as potent deterrents, effectively warding off any intruders attempting to breach their sacred homes. They can even focus their inner body flames to shoot fireworks from their paws or start a fire from their paws. The flames at the tips of their tails can be controlled, exhibiting a distinctive sparkling quality.

To maintain the excellence of their flames, Sparkler Jellinegai are frequently observed storing sulfur within their chest voids. If their flames extinguish, they experience a decline in strength and, ultimately, become permanently frozen in their totemic forms.

Brew a Potion Day (January 19th)

Tonic Jellaku

Anatomy: Bipedal

Tonic Akus are the result of the involvement of abyssal goo in the potion making process, resulting in artificial life. When abyssal goo is added to the potion, the abyss’ goal of expansion causes the potion to come to life using the basis of the potion as its fuel, even to the point of the fire below it.

 However, while created by the abyss its influence is limited due to its artificial nature and its personality is often a reflection of the potion its life-force is based around. The Tonic Akus potion becomes corrupted as well in the process of coming to life, still occupying the old use of the original potion but with a nasty side effect of an abyssal curse.

Commonly Tonic Akus are used to help assist those who created them, dependent on the rebrewing of the potion that boils away with the fire that keeps them afloat. To run out of potion or put out the fire will result in the release of abyssal energy which would revert the initial effect.

Cupid jelliwhals, also referred to as Lovewhals, are captivating creatures celebrated for their role as matchmakers within jelliwhal societies. These remarkable beings possess an innate ability to detect and nurture romantic connections among jelliwhals. They exhibit a profound sensitivity to the subtle signals and chemistry between potential mates, facilitating the development of lasting partnerships.

In jelliwhal communities, it is customary for couples who have been together for a significant duration to seek the blessings of Cupid jelliwhals. These blessings are believed to strengthen the bond between the partners, ensuring their enduring happiness and prosperity as they journey across the expansive ocean during migration.

These Royal Jellids have managed to find gems that are imbued with friendly magic. They not only make the Jellids themselves friendlier, but it makes other Jellinus nearby feel at ease as well! These Royal Jellids can strike up a friendship with almost any Jellinu, regardless of subspecies.

They love to adorn themselves and give others pretty gifts to wear, sticking the decorations onto their jelly. They also "hold hands" with their tails, using the beads as a solid surface to grip on. Occasionally they shed their beads or scales, and they are often used in jewelry or given as gifts to show love and appreciation for another.

One side effect of their friendliness is that they are never found alone, they always need at least one friend, or they may become sad, even with their magical gem.

Thanksgiving (November 23rd)

Harvest Jellibyte

Anatomy: Quadrupedal

Despite their initially insignificant and bothersome nature, a collective of these seemingly worthless bytes was apprehended and systematically bred until they transformed into oversized, voracious versions of themselves.

Incapable of surviving in the wild, their electrical charge is notably feeble, rendering them incapable of causing any harm. Ironically, these creatures are essentially cultivated for consumption. Some are adopted as pets solely due to their comical appearance, but beyond that, their utility is limited.

They have a voracious appetite, devouring anything in their path, including trash. However, harvest bytes designated for consumption are nourished with high-quality food, ensuring that their jelly and flesh become rich and delectable.

Yule (December 21st)

Yuletide Jelleye 

Anatomy: Bipedal or Quadrupedal

The origin of yuletide jelleyes remains uncertain, with theories suggesting that their spirits may have animated from candles. This inference is largely based on the presence of wax heads and tails.

As the winter solstice approaches, Yuletide jelleyes become more visible, often observed rescuing stranded jellinus from harsh snowstorms and guiding them to safety. Their gentle fur and comforting flames serve as a source of solace for the rescued jellinus. 

Moreover, these kind-hearted beings are recognized for gifting those who exhibit goodwill. Their presents often manifest as toys for younger jellies, blessings for the crops of jellinus, or the provision of food within a jellinu's dwelling.

Yuletide jelleyes, distinguishably more modest than typical jelleyes, deliberately maintain a low profile, appearing sparingly to avoid drawing attention to themselves.

The radiant glow of a yuletide eye frequently draws the attention of specific jellinu species like dogglows or even jellibugs. However, caution is recommended against direct eye contact with the flame in their heads, as its intensity can be overwhelming.

Christmas (December 25th)

Toy Dogglow

Anatomy: Quadrupedal

During the Yule season, kind Yuletide Jelleyes grant a special gift to those of pure intent—an enchanting toy dogglow. Once ordinary dogglows in a previous life, these sentient wooden canines are often recipients of the benevolence of Yuletide Jelleyes, providing them with a second chance at life. The sole condition is the relinquishment of memories from their former existence.

Upon their rebirth into these unique forms, their spirits are carefully embedded within unadorned wooden blocks. These blocks, when presented to a fellow Jellinu, are accompanied by magical carving tools, essential for sculpting the new bodies of the toy dogglows.

While displaying unwavering loyalty to their creators, toy dogglows also tend to develop distinct personalities, evident through the intricacies of their craftsmanship and the paint choices bestowed upon them by their owners.

The passage of time can impact toy dogglows, with their lives diminishing based on environmental conditions. Exposure to fire or damage, such as chipping, can extinguish the magic that sustains their life, causing their souls to ascend permanently. Yet, a revitalizing touch in the form of a fresh paint job has the power to breathe new life into a toy dogglow.
