Ready! Set! Read!

January 7 - February 3

This year, a creature has been spotted entering the Erie Canal, and teams of scientists are racing to catch (and identify!) it before it gets to the ocean! Can JA students read enough to power the scientists' boats to catch up?  Or will the creature forever remain a mystery? 

Weekly incentives for participating students include: 

1. Cafeteria Treat vouchers! All participating students have a chance to win. 

2. Scholastic Dollar vouchers!  Given to one of the top readers in each class.

Classroom Incentives:

1. Bulletin Board in Cafeteria: Tracking all the classrooms' weekly achievements for all to see.

2. Rotating Trophy: Top read classroom at each grade level proudly displays trophy in their classroom for a week.

3. Classroom Treat Party:  At the halfway mark the top read classroom at each grade level wins a treat party.

Grand Prize: At the end of the 4-week reading program the class at each grade level that read the most gets books for their classroom library!

During the 4-week reading program, JA students will be able to borrow 1 more book than usual from the JA Library!
