Volunteer Requirements
30 total hours
Hours from other organizations (band, JagCorps, etc.) do not count towards your NHS hours.
You must have Community Service hours from at least 2 of the following 4 groups:
Group A: Masonic Homes, a senior living center or a hospital
Group B: VEAP, Feed My Starving Children, a food shelf or a church
Group C: Volunteering or Tutoring at Jefferson (JHS Drop In), a middle school or an elementary school
Group D: Other Nonprofit organizations (must be pre-approved by Moe/Lauer)
Hours from service projects are required and do not count towards your total.
Seniors:
25 hours are due by the end of Trimester 2 (April 1st, 2024)
5 hours of volunteering must be completed between April 2nd and April 30th in order to earn gold tassel for graduation
Juniors:
20 hours are due April 1st, 2024
10 hours of volunteering must be completed between April 2nd and May 24th to remain in good standing for senior year
Please fill out the form immediately after each time you volunteer. When you submit them we are able to check to make sure that you are on the right track to fulfilling the requirements.
