In this module, the main objective was to gain a deep understanding of materials and the forces acting on a structure. To achieve this, we began by creating models based on specific prompts. These exercises helped us explore the various forces that affect a structure and how we can either counteract or utilize these forces to our advantage.
My particular prompt involved designing a framed structure. The task was to construct this structure within a defined area of 1 meter by 1 meter. Through this exercise, I learned how to analyze the forces at play, such as tension, compression, and shear, and how different materials respond to these forces. By experimenting with the framed structure, I could see firsthand how to make a structure stable and strong, using the right materials and design techniques.
