Jean-Michel do Carmo Silva is a Full Professor of Law at Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM). His most recent academic publications focus on financial law, particularly the regulation of insurance undertakings. He directs research in law by coordinating collective works and serving as a scientific advisor for a legal journal. He teaches contract law, risk management, and other courses. He is in charge of a teaching program in partnership with the University of Grenoble Alpes. He holds a PhD in law frome Toulouse Capitole University, where he also taught for several years.
Is a member of the Executive committee of the Law & Management Research Network. From 2017 to 2020, he was the chairman of the French Academy of Legal Studies, a scientific association that aims to establish the place of law in business schools. He is now the vice chairman.
