Originally from Colombia, I'm a scientist and data specialist with a passion for quantum chemistry, astronomy, data science, and science communication. I completed my PhD in computational spectroscopy at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2023, where I developed tools to aid in the characterisation of exoplanet atmospheres using quantum chemistry.
My work centres around building and applying computational and coding tools to tackle data challenges across diverse scientific fields. I've performed comprehensive benchmarking studies assessing the accuracy and computational tarde-offs of different DFT methods and basis sets in quantum chemistry, simulated infrared spectra for thousands of molecules, and designed end-to-end computational pipelines to acquire, process, analyse, and visualise data.
I'm deeply committed to making science accessible and inclusive. I write public science articles (in both English and Spanish), design infographics, and create hands-on workshops and activities that communicate science in creative ways. I especially enjoy amplifying the work of underrepresented scientists and making science approachable to diverse target audiences, ranging from school students to fellow researchers!
I like to think of this website as my extended Resumé where I get to write more about what I do, my interests, and my passion for science. Welcome! :)
