Hello. My name is Jenna Cecrle, and I am a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Agricultural Education with a minor in Animal Science. Throughout my time at the university, I have had the privledge to be a part of ALEC Teacher Prep Club, had many hours of praticum in the classroom, and created connections through my experiences. I have also been involved in internships through Adams County Extension and I am a 4-H club leader. Through these expereicnes, I have gained a deeper understanding of what agricultural education is to me and how you do not always have to be in a classroom for learning to happen.
My love for education started at a young age. With my parents both being teachers, I saw first hand the impact of education. I knew that I too wanted to make an impact. I fell in love with agriculture through the Adams County 4-H program. I was a part of a club that allowed kids who didn't grow up on a farm to be apart and show livestock. This allowed me to learn firsthand about animal agriculture and I now teach youth about animal agriculture. I really started to grow my knowledge and later joined my school's FFA program. Through this, I discovered I wanted to do both. I chose Agricultural Education because to make an impact and advocate for agriculture.
The purpose of this portfolio is to serve as a place to showcase the high-quality career and technical education (CTE) that I have refined through my experiences. Through these experiences, I have reflected on how I will implement and better myself as an agricultural educator.
