Where It All Began

The Jazz Yard Academy is a small non-profit organisation (NPO) operating in Bonteheuwel, who's

prime objective is to create a healthy society through the media of music.

We provide music classes for acoustic piano, keyboard, guitar, bass, vocals, drums saxophone, trumpet and most importantly music theory. Under the guidance of experienced musicians, these youngsters find a new meaning to life. It is encouraging to see the way music brings a smile to their faces,how excited they are about every new lesson!

The classes are split between music theory and performance sessions. Theory lessons are conducted with extreme patience.

The performance sessions are geared at showing how much fun music can be.

Students are also given the opportunity to express themselves, & encouraged to listen to the mood of the song and respect each other's contribution to the song!
