Project Description

This project was to see how much social media I use and how it can effect from a societal perspective as well.

Social Media Addiction Survey

I took the "AM I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA" quiz and it stated that,

Congratulations! Psychologists estimate that as many as 5 to 10% of Americans meet the criteria for social media addiction today. But luckily, that's not you! Not checking social media every few minutes doesn't make you feel anxious, as you prefer to live 'in the moment' rather than through your apps. You use social media to your advantage, at work and to connect with friends and family, but you know when to put it away. Keep it up!

I knew that it was going to get this score because I barely get on social media. I'm usually gaming instead of seeing what my best friend is up to (usually gaming with me).

Interesting Social Media Statistics

This stat includes the percentage of young teens that use different apps. I found this relatable because I use YouTube and TikTok too and wanted to see how many others use this/ different apps as well.

Social Media's Impact on Society

My opinion on social media is that it can be used for good or can create terrible things. Good being spreading positive reinforcements on social subjects regarding race, gender, etc. A bad thing about social media is that it can have a negative impact on someone's mentality through trends and push norms that are negative. With the current state of this society, it's better that we stay away from groups that mispresent a group of individuals and focus on bettering this country. In conclusion, I believe that social media can have more positivity than negativity.

Lesson Learned

I learned that I'm in a healthy relationship with my social media apps and will keep it that way. Even the Wi-Fi is down, I have plenty of books to read. I've also learned that a lot of people use social media too much to the point where they can't off the phone which was very surprising to me.
