Discover the journey of Mrs. Loh, a beneficiary who found joy and connection through Xin Yuan Community Care.
Having dedicated most of her life to service, first as a nurse and then as a childcare worker, Mrs. Loh began experiencing feelings of isolation when she eventually retired. Thereafter, Xin Yuan offered her a sense of community, among fellow seniors as well as volunteers of all ages.
In addition to helping seniors stay active and engaged, Xin Yuan also aims to support underprivileged children and vulnerable families. Overall, the charity strives to build an inclusive community for both the young and old.
In 2024, I decided to make a series of three videos, each as a solo project. As social media videos in 9:16 vertical orientation, these projects are relatively simple and less complex. Thus I wanted to challenge myself to complete them 100% on my own. This involved contacting each organisation featured, making preparations for the shoot, recording the visuals required, conducting the interviews featured, and editing the videos in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. It was a rewarding experience!
