– This is a project I made in UCI learning about Maya Autodesk.
– I made this model using quad-based polygon shapes and sculpted using a personal hand-drawn reference of Sebastien from Belle and Sebastien.
– Learned how to model and rig various 3D models through Maya's rig painter.
– Learned a bit about sky-boxes (Used an open source skybox).
– Worked with a particle system to make the Ghibli Tree Leaves.
– Learned how to import .fbx files into game engines such as Unity.
– Took a look into Cinemachine to see how a camera should act when making a 3rd Person character game.
– Learned how to use Maya's coding system to procedurally create 3D terrain.
– Learned how to model through vertices.
– I learned that only select shaders work in importing Maya3D .fbx assets to Unity.
– I had to color the model through selecting multiple polygon vertices and applying a color to the selected area.
– Afterwards I used Unity's supplied shaders to color the 3D model.
– I'm looking forward to learning how to create cloth-like clothes for the characters in the future, as well as learning how to create shaders for the material of the 3D model.
