Lead Audio, Composer
September 2025
Experiment with emotions in this emergent sandbox simulation by identifying, engaging, and expressing dynamic creatures known as Emoes -- all while trying to maintain balance and uncover the secrets of this mysterious alien world.
Prism of You was created as an MFA thesis project under USC Games.
As the sole composer, I aimed to create a soundtrack that reflected the multitude of emotions our Emoes represented. Much like the core gameplay loop, finding a balance was the real challenge, between many emotional layers and a composition that settled itself well into gameplay.
As we were creating a sandbox simulation game, it was important that the music never bled too heavily into the foreground such that it became a distraction.
As the audio lead, I also worked on the implementation of my music and the sound effects created by one of my peers. The core gameplay loop diverges between three states: feeling underwhelmed, feeling balanced, and feeling normal.
My goal was to seamlessly weave between three tracks as states changed. I accomplished this by composing three songs of the exact same length, but with evidently different moods.
