Lead Producer
In Development
Mech Believe MEGA BRAWL!! is an action-packed rogue lite inspired by the whimsical and fantastical play that children engage in with their toys. As an MFA thesis project, we are attempting to capture the childhood experiences of play and imagination, blurring the boundary between fantasy and reality.
As the project's lead producer, I have prioritized cultivating a culture of honesty, trust, and fun for our 24 member team! For a game all about reimagining childhood whimsy, it was important to establish a safe environment where the development process feels equally as imaginative and carefree.
Some ways I've accomplished this:
Maintaining organization through task management, setting priorities, time estimates, and managing the scope of our systems-heavy project
Leading team meetings, writing well-paced guiding notes and creating a organized hierarchy, with descending information trees from leads to individual team members
Conducting milestone reviews and retros using Miro Board, constantly analyzing our workflow processes and creating actionable items to solve stresses
Winter Showcase Exhibition with Team Members
For such a systems-heavy game in the rogue lite genre, I've learned how important it is to create and manage easy-to-digest documentation.
Maintaining such clear documentation has also made it easier for me to consistently monitor the scope of the project. Working closely with the director, we have been able to workshop our systems to remain in-scope, delivering successful builds for all milestones thus far.
