Leadership

Being a leader is who I am, and it is what I enjoy doing. Through LSU's resources, I have participated in many leadership organizations from which I have developed many friendships in. Most importantly though, these are the organizations where I learned the skills of being a proper leader through various resources. These resources enabled me to become a better version of myself as well as a better influence to others. Below are a couple of examples of my experience as a leader at LSU; because these are the programs that helped me reach my goals as a leader specifically through workshops, volunteering, presentations, and event planning. My life would not be the same without these valuable experiences.

College of Science SCI Lead Council

During my Junior year I was met with the opportunity to join the College of Science's SCI LEAD student council. In this student council, we assisted the College of Science with organizing events and serving the community. At the end of the year we were each awarded with a certificate of recognition at the 45th Annual Dean Arthur R. Choppin Honors Convocation for our efforts. My time with SCI LEAD can be characterized as fruitful, with me and other cohort members working jointly on event planning, and branching out to connections in the College of Science. Through this opportunity, I have learned the abilities to effectively communicate with those in the scientific community, organize engaging events, and present myself professionally. I will utilize these skills in dental school and in classrooms to better myself and have good peer/student relations.

LSU Research Ambassadors

In Fall 2022 I received the pleasure of being accepted as one of LSU's Research Ambassadors. As a Research Ambassador, I am responsible for presenting about the details in research to classes, student organizations, and freshmen groups. I also love volunteering at research-related events such as LSU Discover Day, table sits, and other educational events regarding research. This is a position that is great for building both communication and leadership skills required from a student aspiring to be a successful researcher.

LSU Badminton Club Executive Board

The LSU Badminton Club is a student funded, and run organization operating at LSU. When me and my friends founded the club we never would have anticipated the scale at which the club would grow, but today The LSU Badminton Club is among one of the most influential clubs at LSU. Me and the executive board of the LSU Badminton Club work tirelessly to keep everything great! This is a photo of some club members after a good day of practice. Although this is not a club based in academics, I believe that in humans there exists an undisputable mind-body connection; for that reason I wanted to encourage everyone out there to exercise, and live a healthy lifestyle so that their physical, emotional, and spiritual components can be whole. I plan on living an active lifestyle no matter where I go in life.
